Project Background
The customer from Ukraine produces calcite sand for glass manufacturing applications. During glass sand production, accurate particle size classification is required to ensure the sand meets the requirements of downstream glass processing.

The customer’s existing production line used a Ø1600 mm Tumbler Screening Machine to process calcite sand with particle sizes ranging from 10 mesh to 35 mesh.
According to the material analysis provided by the customer:
| Particle Size | Distribution |
| 10-14 mesh | 25% |
| 14-18 mesh | 55% |
| 18-35 mesh | 20% |
The existing equipment had a capacity of approximately 5 tons/hour. With increasing demand for glass sand products, the customer required a screening solution capable of handling 10-12 tons/hour while maintaining stable particle size classification.
The main requirements included:
- Increasing processing capacity;
- Maintaining stable particle size distribution;
- Reducing material accumulation during screening;
- Improving continuous production performance.
Sanyuantang Screening Solution
Based on the characteristics of calcite sand:
- High mineral hardness;
- Good material flowability;
- Requirement for multi-size classification;
- Strict particle size requirements for glass sand production;
and considering that the main product size was concentrated in the 14-18 mesh range (55%), the screening equipment needed sufficient screening area and effective material movement to ensure full contact between materials and screen mesh.
Therefore, the Sanyuantang engineering team recommended the FYBS-1536 Gyratory Screen.
For the customer’s requirement of 10-12 tons/hour capacity, Sanyuantang designed a:
FYBS-1536 Gyratory Screen
3+3 Deck Configuration
The multi-layer screening structure increases effective screening area and allows continuous particle size classification.

Why Recommend FYBS-1536 Gyratory Screen?
Calcite sand is a relatively hard mineral material with irregular particle shapes, which may cause wear on screening components during continuous operation.
FYBS-1536 Gyratory Screen adopts durable screen components and reinforced structures to improve wear resistance and extend service life.
Accurate Particle Size Classification
The customer required stable separation of three particle size ranges:
- 10-14 mesh;
- 14-18 mesh;
- 18-35 mesh.
The 3+3 deck design allows multiple screening stages in one machine, helping maintain stable particle size classification.
Higher Processing Capacity
Compared with the customer’s existing Ø1600 mm screening machine, FYBS-1536 improves screening efficiency through optimized screening motion and material flow. The equipment meets the customer’s target capacity of 10-12 tons/hour.
Stable Operation
The gyratory screening motion provides gentle material handling compared with traditional vibration screening methods. This reduces material breakage and is suitable for glass sand production where particle integrity is important.

Project Results
The project started on October 17, 2025. The Sanyuantang team completed equipment installation within 5 days and commissioning within 2 days. The complete installation and commissioning process took only 7 days, helping the customer quickly resume production.
After installation, the screening performance improved:
- Increased Production Capacity
- The processing capacity increased from approximately 5 tons/hour to 10-12 tons/hour, meeting the customer’s production requirements.
- Stable Particle Size Classification
- The screening system achieved stable separation of different particle sizes required for glass sand production.
- Improved Production Efficiency
- The FYBS-1536 Gyratory Screen provided a more suitable screening solution for continuous calcite sand processing.

Conclusion
This project demonstrates the importance of selecting suitable screening equipment for mineral processing applications.
With the FYBS-1536 Gyratory Screen, Sanyuantang provided a reliable calcite sand screening solution for a Ukraine glass sand producer, helping improve production capacity and maintain stable particle classification.
